It is located from Bogra city to the northwest. Its total area is approximately 315.33 sq km. Gaibandha district on the north, Bogra sadar upazila and kahalu upazilas and dupchanchia upazilas on the south, Sonatala upazila and gabtali upazilas on the east and kalai upazila and khetlal upazilas on the west. Located 19 km north of Bogra district, on the banks of the Ganganai river. However, Shibganj is located on the banks of the main river Karatoya.
